Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars

I’ve played lots of Grand Theft Auto titles since the original GTA for the PS1 and the game is one of a kind, its not everyday that you can play games where you can beat the hell out of innocent pedestrians, run them over with your truck or shoot them in the head. There are lots of things that you can do with GTA especially with the release of the 3D versions like GTA III, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas for the PS2, the game became a lot more realistic and the enjoyment is endless. I bought my PSP around the time the PSP versions of this game came out namely: GTA Liberty City Stories and GTA Vice City Stories and yeah I really loved beating those AIs in the game whenever I like and wherever I like.

But the enjoyment doesn’t end there, since the release of GTA IV for the PS3 (which I haven’t played yet because I can’t decide if I will buy the console since the blu-ray games are so expensive, maybe I should wait for the pirated version, nah just joking) Rockstar Leeds, in conjunction with series creators Rockstar North had release their new title for the series, Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars.

Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars is now available for the Nintendo DS, coming this October for the PSP and fall 2009 for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Yes what you heard is right, finally a GTA title for iPhone and iPod Touch users.

The game’s protagonist is Huang Lee who is a spoiled rich kid thanks to his Triad boss father. After his father’s murder,  Huang Lee’s mission is to deliver an ancient sword to his uncle Kenny so his family retains control of the Triad gangs in Liberty City.

One of the best feature of the Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars is the head-to-head and co-op multiplayer mayhem with the use of Wi-Fi of gadgets like Nintendo DS and most probably iPhone and iPod Touch. Players can also check leaderboards to track their criminal career.

Fall 2009, I can’t wait to try this game with my PSP or iPod Touch whichever is cooler we’ll see.

Here’s the trailer of the game
