I’m having a hard time blogging because of the storm Ondoy

I used to post atleast once a day here in my website Digital Sago, but since that blasted storm “Ondoy” submerged our house in Valenzuela City with his hatred for humanity (some people refer to it as “Ganti ng Kalikasan”), I can no longer follow my strict schedule and not to mention Digital Sago is just a one month old website.

My Wi-Fi setup at home was ruined because of the flood and most of our belongings are drenched with mud-flavored rain water. Much worst is that I’m now staying at our home in Caloocan City and I can’t decide what to do with my internet connection back in Valenzuela City since Bayantel connection is not available in Caloocan City, transfering my subscription was not part of the option leaving me with the option of cutting my internet connection.

Now my only chance of posting is from my computer at work, luckily I’m still not that loaded with work and hopefully for the rest of my working life.

Just to give you an idea of what happened to us during Ondoy’s trip to Manila. It all started when my girlfriend and I were sleeping comfortably in our bed when my brother phoned me giving me one of his golden advice regarding the continuous raining which I disregarded at first. We were so confident because for about 7-8 years of living in Valenzuela City, our worst flood experience was just 2-3 inches high inside our house and most part of our house was 5 inches elevated and thats exactly what happened at first so we were too busy preventing the flood from entering, we were too busy that its was almost too late when I realized that most of the water were no longer coming from the outside but from the drainage inside our house as well. This was the moment that I told my girlfriend its time to save all that we can and abandon ship, it was really painful to decide which to save and which to leave behind afterall everything was important to us. The water poured so fast that I was only able to go back and forth five times from our second floor storeroom to inside our house to save as much belongings as I can, until the water was already above my head (I don’t know how to swim by the way).

The aftermath of the event was so depressing, all our clothes are wet, all appliances – televisions, refrigerators, even our piano set which weights almost a ton was turned sideways and everything was covered in mud.

This was my worst experience so far, but no one was to be blamed but we ourselves, I believe this is just the beginning and if we don’t act now there might be far more stronger storm than Ondoy like “Super Saiyan Ondoy, but seriously guys I think we should always be prepared.

I hope everything will turn normal as soon as possible so I can resume to my “One post or more per day blogging routine”.
