Los Angeles – the star of the hit movies “Dirty Dancing” and Ghost died on monday after battling pancreatic cancer for the last 20 months. Patrick Swayze died peacefully with his family at his side, at first reports gave him just weeks to live but according to his doctor his situation was more optimistic than that.

After being diagnosed of an especially deadly form of cancer, Patrick Swayze still continued working and despite his condition he was still able to finish the first season of  the drama series “The Beast” which ran for 13 episodes.

Patrick Swayze was well known for his performance as Johnny Castle a misunderstood bad boy in the movie “Dirty Dancing” which became an international phenomenon in 1987 and spawned an oscar-winning soundtrack “(I’ve Had) the Time of My Life,” and the 1990 hit movie “Ghost” in which he starred as a murdered man trying to communicate with his faincee through a psychic, I will never forget one of the memorable scene in this movie where in Patrick Swayze together with his leading lady Demi Moore were molding pottery to the strains of the Righteous Brothers’ “Unchained Melody.”

Hollywood had lost another icon, although Patrick Swayze is gone his memory still lives on his great movies and he’s still one of the sexiest man.
