Philippines – To give way to a fellow Liberal Party member Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, Senator Manuel “Mar” Roxas II withdraws from the 2010 presidential election. It was a big sacrifice for the presidential aspirant, according to her relatives they saw how hard the senator had been preparing  for his presidential bid even releasing several advertisement  prior to the 2010 presidential election polls, however I myself am proud of his decision I didn’t realize that there are still politicians out there who are ready to set aside their political ambition for the sake of our country.

The Senator believe  in “country above self”, He immediately declared his support to Aquino though it was not still clear whether Aquino will run for president on 2010. “Today, I’m announcing my support for the candidany of Noynoy Aquino for  president of 2010” he said in a televised press conference held at the Club Filipino in San Juan, Manila.

His fiance Korina Sanchez became emotional due to Roxas’ sudden announcement of his withdrawal, according to her she could feel the weight of that sacrifice. They are set to marry on October 23.
