windows 7 Philippine launch

The dates are November 7-8, 2009, the most awaited OS Windows 7 will be launched here in the Philippines at the SM North EDSA Cyberzone. The event will have games and prizes, celebrities, demos and freebies, they’ll be giving away lots of goodies even laptops.

I will definitely be in this event, at least be able to try out Microsoft’s newest version of Microsoft Windows, the very same Windows version said to be an improvement of the now very stable Windows XP.

If you were wondering why Windows 7 was very much talked about, then here’s a complete list of the Windows 7 features:

• Support for Virtual Hard Disks.
• Advances on Touch and Handwriting recognition.
• Improved performance on Multi-Core Processors.
• Improved Boot performance.
• Direct-Access and Kernel Improvements.
• A new Windows Media Center version and a Gadget.
• Support for systems using multiple heterogeneous Graphics Cards.
• Redesigned Calculator with multiline capabilities, Programmer and Statistics modes along with unit conversion.
• New addition to the Control Panel namely ClearType Text Tuner, Display Color Calibration Wizard, Gadgets, Recovery, Troubleshooting, Workspaces Center, Location and Other Sensors, Credential Manager, Biometric Devices, System Icons, and Display.
• Windows Security Center renamed to Windows Action Center.
• Full-size image viewing and slideshows in Windows Photo Viewer and Windows Media Center.
• New revamped taskbar.
• Support for USB 3.0 in a subsequent patch.
